Kelly's Directory books on CD-ROM
Kelly's Directories are trade directories and to some extent gazetteers of counties. They are far more detailed than the Pigot & Co. or Slater's ones. Although the contents varied over the years, they list a general account of the county, with lists of the Hundreds, Poor Law Unions; the places in each county alphabetically arranged, with their inhabitants (both private residents and tradesmen), and with their Hundreds, Unions, and County Court Districts and Divisions of the County. Also included are the Dioceses, Archdeaconries and Rural Deaneries, etc. Some volumes are also to be found with a map of the county. These maps were sold separately from the book, and many have been removed for framing.
